What a difficult condition! I am not a physician, and I confess that your question stymies me. However, if you would like me to ask the experts in the Academy for Eating Disorders, who include physicians and researchers, please write to me at gainingthetruth@gmail.com with your contact information, and I will try to find you some help.

In the meantime, I can only suggest a careful and kind routine of eating to nurture and nourish your body despite your inability to feel appetite.

I wish you health and hope,
Aimee

I experience iatrogenic anorexia. A medication, in addition to causing multiple organ damage, rendered a chemical burn to my stomach and intestines, truncating my body's ability to digest and assimilate. My appetite was great before this. This happened 5 years ago. When I look at myself, I see a skin-draped skeleton, not the "fat" person anorexics usually see.

Any suggestions how I can get my brain to realize my body is hungry?? Force feeding is really the pits!

Thank you. R
