Book Review: Comfort Living By Christine Eisner
Dec 1, 2009 By Dr. Joseph S. Maresca
Comfort Living (Lifestyle Design/ Nov 2009) is a back to basics guide to a balanced way of living. Too many of us tend to be chaotic and disorganized. A major theme of this book is to get the home organized as a condition precedent to our own well being.
First, the house must be an inviting place devoid of too much clutter and random objects spewed about. The table should be set in advance and the surroundings should be lit well- preferably with natural light. Christine Eisner, the author, recommends that we get close to nature .
Some people like an exotic ambience like chiming clocks, perpetual motion machines or mechanical waterfalls. Sometimes, a more natural setting may be emulated by purchasing live herbs and planting them throughout the home.
Most of us treasure the simple things in life, like breakfast in bed, a quiet walk outside or the pleasure of getting an extensive "To Do" list completed on time. Overall, this book is an excellent reference for people who wish to bring organization into daily living. As such, the book will have a large constituency of readership; such as, homeowners, restaurant owners and anyone serving the public at large.
Christine Eisner is a designer, consultant and writer whose creative vision shows people how to lead a more balanced and meaningful way of life by transforming their surroundings. You'll find the author online at http://lifestyledesign.squarespace.com/
