TX Pediatrician's Letter To Patients On Thimerosal-Free H1N1 Vaccine

Ari Brown, M.D.--

Effective Wednesday, October 28, our practice will be offering the H1N1 Nasal Spray vaccine to anyone who wants it and is eligible to receive it (see prior blog post on those restrictions). Please check it out to avoid frustration by showing up for an appointment and then being told your child is not eligible.

We expect to receive another 750 doses of the nasal spray in the coming days so we should have enough to get rolling!! Please call the office to schedule a nurse visit appointment for each child who will get the vaccine.

We are still waiting to receive the H1N1 Shot (injectable form). We are told that we will receive 500 doses of the Sanofi brand--which is approved for children ages 6 months of age and older, and is thimerosal-preservative free. As soon as it arrives in the office, I will let you all know. In short: We do NOT have the shots yet.

The testing on H1N1 is seriously lacking and I will take continue to strengthen my childrens' already strong immune systems with a mostly vegetarian, organic, raw food diet supplemented with vitamin D and high quality medical grade probiotics while making sure to avoid refined foods and sugars. Fear and ignorance and serious misinformation/media hype re: H1N1 and vaccines are a serious problem.
State of mind (fear-based, depressed) as well as lack of exercise significantly decrease immunity. A bit of more empowering education to the masses would go a long way. I already know of 2 healthy adults who were given the mist version of the vaccine, and both are still sick with horrible flu symptoms since having it administered.
In peace and good health,
...just another mom who cares.

Researchers assure pregnant woman and others, that they cannot contract H1N1 virus from the vaccine because it is an inactivated virus. The 2009 H1N1 influenza virus vaccine used in the trial also does not contain thimerosal, which is a preservative that is hotly debated in other vaccines. However, there are various types of 2009 Novel H1N1 vaccines that do contain mercury.
