New American and American Eagle airplanes were painted in Komen pink ribbons for the announcement of the Cure Lifetime Promise Partnership. "These airplanes will be a visible reminder--virtually everywhere--of the work still left to do in th breast cancer fight, " said Daniel P. Garton, executive vice president of marketing for American Airlines, the world's largest airline.
Inflammatory Breast Cancer is unusual, just 2-5% of cases diagnosed, but aggressive. Symptoms include redness, swelling, or skin inflammation, and is often undetectable via a mammogram or ultrasound. Because of these factors, it is usually only discovered after it has spread in the body.
