Book Review: The Unofficial Guide to Everything Twitter

By Bev Ethington MerryWeather

Everything Twitter-From Novice To Expert is a quick reference guide for the third most popular social network on the Internet. Depending on where you're at on the learning curve for computers will determine if you are in need of this book. I for one found it be be very handy. I'm only 4 months into the learning curve so I need all the help I can get. Some computer sites are fairly self explanatory and Twitter is one of those. But if you want to take full advantage of all of Twitter's bells and whistles you should really take a look.
There are numerous websites listed in the book that have sprung up because of Twitter, such as Tweetheart, a dating service and Splitweet.com, a must have tool for heavy corporate users or if you have more than one twitter account and are a heavy user. TweetBeep enables anyone to receive alerts by email whenever a specific word or phrase is tweeted.

One thing to remember is that each post that you make on Twitter has its own permalink and is searchable, which means anyone can read what you wrote, so choose your words wisely.

It'll be interesting to see where Twitter is in another few years. I have to say, I'm still on the fence but if you have the time or the need to network it's fun and it's fast. So if you are into Twitter consider Everything Twitter-From Novice To Expert by Steve Soho and Monica Jones, you'll probably pick up a few "twricks!"
